Spiral noodles are very popular among consumers of ready-made meals. They’re relatively inexpensive, have a fairly high satiety factor, and go with almost anything. They are the ultimate convenience food. However, as anyone running a food packing plant knows, spiral noodles are not so convenient for food filling lines.

The challenges of dispensing spiral noodles

Noodles are not easy to dispense, either on automated or manual filling lines. They tend to clump and clog machines, causing uneven distribution and temporary stoppages. They share these characteristics with other popular carbohydrates such as couscous, rice and other shapes and forms of pasta. Their long, spiral shape makes them all the more inclined to clog filling machines. They are also susceptible to breaking, resulting in uneven, inconsistent and unattractive presentation.

Multi-Fill’s solutions

Here in the United States, we have an additional challenge because American consumers prefer noodles cooked to a softer consistency than they are generally eaten in other countries. A machine that gently manages and dispenses the noodles, minimizing breakage and preventing clumping, is the solution to the problem. It is for this exact reason that Multi-Fill developed our range of volumetric fillers. These machines are specifically designed to pack difficult to dispense foods, such as noodles and others, and keep production lines moving with minimal breakage, clumping and stoppages. Our MPFSC-120 is our premier turnkey solution to the problems of high-speed dispensing of difficult foods such as noodles. It can fill up to 120 containers per minute, depending on volumes and line configurations, and has been created specifically with sticky, moist foods in mind. The best way to plan for the inclusion of spiral noodles on your factory line, is to include the MPFSC-120 in your production lines.

Food packaging plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and quality of the food we consume. To maintain high standards and prevent foodborne illnesses, the food packaging industry follows a set of regulations known as Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). In this article, we will delve into cGMP and explore its impact on preventing foodborne illness. We will also take an inside look at how cGMP is implemented on a food factory line, the role of food filling equipment in ensuring compliance, and discuss the future of cGMP in food packaging for strengthening food safety.
